According to reports, "Xena: Warrior Princess" star, Lucy Lawless, is fighting the fight for Greenpeace and is now facing three years in prison!
Lucy pleaded guilty on Thursday for a February trespassing charge when she and five other environmental activists sat atop a drilling tower in New Zealand for four days in protest against Arctic oil exploration.
It has to be noted that Lucy, 44, is a native New Zealander and will be sentenced in September facing a maximum three years in prison after prosecutors dropped the more serious charge of burglary.
"I had to do what I had to do," Lucy told the "New Zealand Herald".
"We want to tell (those responsible for deep-sea oil drilling) absolutely under no circumstances is this a good idea. They are robbing our children of their birthright to a clean and healthy planet, and they know it."
It has to be mentioned that Lucy is a first-time offender in what was a peaceful protest, so many expect she'll get away with the three-year jail sentence.
Do you think it's fair for Lucy Lawless to face three years imprisonment for a such important environmental cause?
Thumbs up Lucy!
