storytelling time with my kids

Hello class!

haha..today for once i went to sch and i went home feeling purposeful.
God does work in miraculous ways only yesterday i felt like shit n giving up and i just prayed to give me a purpose to push on and today just before recess i got my prayer answered :)

I had to relieve 3M class for 1 hour. they were like the last class out of 10 classes. the teachers said they were a rambunctious uncontrollable rude freaky bunch so it kinda put me on my toes the moment i stepped in. True enough by the first 10 minutes turned into horror as the malay boy threatened to punch the lights out of the Indian boy next to him for reporting to discipline teacher about his smoking escapes in sch toilet. To escape so much tension in their small confined class i took them to the library. omg..the journey to the library itself set 15 of them running in different directions n i had to scream threaten n play hide n seek to catch them back. they were even hiding under the fire extinguisher hose, under the bench, behind curtains n some standing between ledge to make fun of me searching for them! haiyo such rascals indeed!

After much screaming n merciless running around i caught all of them into the library to read or just sit around FAR from each other to ease the tension and just stop fighting among one another. (dont be surprised as quiet little tudung girls will suddenly get up, scream, box n hit boys back right in front of ur eyes n they both will be yelling obscenities at the top of the voices even with me around)

after 45 minutes i was walking around and to my great astonishment the naughtiest rascal in class with a scruffy face and untucked shirt looked up at me n said "ticer, ajar i baca buku cerita english speaking la"
So i took the nearest kindergarden picture book and we opened the 1st page n i asked him to read the 1st sentence " Once upon a time, there lived a poor boy named Jack and his mother". The kid could not even go past the first 3 words n choked n looked to me for help. Oh no, the boy could not read. at 15 years old i realized so many of them in this class COULD NOT READ. it broke my heart...i mean WHAT WERE THE TEACHERS BEFORE THIS DOING?!!15 years just wasted?! how could this happen in today's modern society?!

Seeing how difficult it was i didnt want to discourage the poor kid so i helped him thru the 1st page n without realizing we had a little circle sitting down to listen as i translated n gave meaning to each word. It was a miracle as i narrated the story and pointed at pictures n made sound effects as if i was clowning, the boys just sat there n KEPT QUIET listening instead of talking for the 1st time ever!

So 15 minutes later on when the story ended, the same boy looked at me and said "best lah ticer, minggu depan kita baca cerita lain ok?" and he smiled at me. i had made friends with a notorious kid which was actually quite nice inside :) and i smiled back.

Can u ever believe it, the whole bunch had NEVER heard the story of " Jack n the Beanstalk". NEVER HEARD before in their lives. and i was so ignorant thinking everybody shared the same good childhood i once had. what an eyeopener this was..

later on, i went to relieve 5 Landskap also the last of the last form 5 class and i just talked to the 7 of them and found out that all of them have night jobs cause their families were soo poor, they have never heard of a Chinese wedding, never heard stories of Penang and its wonders and they just told me random funny things like asking me to go eat cendul or rendang at their pasar malam stall . The worst of the bunch are actually the nice, hardworking decent ones because they have so often been misunderstood n alienated just because they dont perform well academically other ppl just label them as "hopeless" which is so sad as well.

Its weird to have to have little people calling me "Ticer Ticer" or "Sentra" in the hallways and repeated telling the class, good morning sit down or keep quiet!! Stop fighting!! Sit down!!
I'm trying to get used to malay girls kissing my hand (salam) in respect when the class ends and i'm trying to adapt to the limited choices of food in sch n surrounding area (penang food has made my tongue very picky indeed). Heck, i'm even trying to speak BM in one straight line without adding any hokkien or english or halt trying to think of a translation in my brain. its all so new n so tiring! haha

and today was the first time, even though i was not formally teaching in a classroom setting, i had done something worthwhile in my life. and i went home so tired but satisfied for i had turned into a student n learned new things from my students. see la, how ironic how the world works...

Goodbye hair

hi dear readers.

as many already know i cut my crowning glory after it got too dry n frizzy from constant abuse of colouring, bleaching, colouring straightening and colouring again. it began to feel like the wild wild grass of Africa so the best option was to...

CUT CHOP POTONG it off!!
(i feel powerful like the Queen of hearts when i say this line out loud)

so.. here we goooooo!!
as the stylist snipped i felt my heart break into pieces..

storm is the doggie that lives in the saloon. happiest little chap who jumps on me everytime i visit.

thats my fringe on the floor

more red hair chopped off

some alien face

back view

looks good after its blown by professional

when i blow my own hair i look like this!!

some say like edna mode also..

but i say.. I HATE MY SHORT HAIR, dahlah look like aunty, its still frizzy n out of bed look can scare the hungry ghosts back into their graves 6 feet under..sigh..

i miss the old hair...today when i went to take IC new photo i looked at the display person on the computer n i gasped in horror. the fatty sitting on the chair said cannot retake picture as he is going for minum teh session (teatime)..damn it!
gotta live with the reminder of myself looking like "a cat with pomelo helmet combination of edna mode in specs" everytime i take out my IC its gonna mock me in the face- literally!

its gonna take a good long 2 donkey years to go back to original length..unless somebody offers to buy me a nice wig or share some magic potion to grow hair as fast as Rapunzels..i'm doomed.:( boo hoo

MORAL OF THE STORY: never cut ur hair on impulse. if its bad, the aftereffects will last for years. thxbai.

i want back my long hairrrrrrrrrr

Hair magic!

GOOD MORNING DEAR READERS! :)

how are you guys? sudah makan? sapade le? eaten already? kin leow ru yang?

i ate roti pisang n teh tarik today morning n i'm feeling like superwoman rite now! haha
(read fb stat for the funny thing tat happened)

As promised in my Vlog, i'm here to blog about how i passed my interview test when my original current hair looks like this:

i dont call this lala red i call it passionate red same like my fiery personality!

so, who would have thought this girl who went to USM to study education to become a teacher is now a clown, dresses like a "non-nerd" and has wild creative coloured hair that changes colour every few months. very "IN" rite this teacher? sure u want me to teach ur kids english in the future? (posting to schs might be around april-june)

Anyways back to topic, HOW DID I EVER GO FOR GOVERMENT INTERVIEW in of all place- Putrajaya going like this redhead gangster?
the answer is simple..
(let me start with a little bit of history)

My hair was a beautiful red during christmas then i pandai pandai went to straighten n BURNT it during cny..so it looked like this brown blonde shitty colour:

So being vain and self concious after cny i went to REdye it red again:

then i suddenly got the info that i needed to go for interview!! yo omg!! what to do?!
so i panicked thinking i just coloured my hair no way i'm gonna waste money making it shitty black again..so i tot for a few days n came out with a brilliant sollution!!

all u need is:
temperory hair spray!

tie hair in a bun and cover with some granny net so the back part no need spray

apply tons of conditioner prior to colouring to protect hair from smelly damage.

and the biggest surprise for finishing touch:

GOOD OLD BUNCHO colour- black. when it dries ur hair does get a little hard but it covers every trace of redness!!

and after 30 minutes of tying into bun n spray colouring with the help of Elene..i took the brush n literally painted the parts that were still red. paint like caligraphy!! u must think i'm mad but it works! (smells like damp socks tho)

the result: BLACK AS A NUN!!

TADAH!!

and after going home, i had a tough time washing it off and combing my hair like dog fur but i still look pretty la...and i maintained my RED HAIR!! woots!!
this tips might come in handy for those who are going for interviews or going to impress ur future mother/father in law without looking like some samseng or too hip for their taste. goodluck to u! hahaha..

see? red hair is da bomb!!

STEREOTYPING IS BAD!

HI dear readers!!

today i'm here to talk about stereotyping- branding somebody something due to common generalization/thinking. (like all chinese are gamblers, all malays are lazy and all indians are drunks). stereotypes are not always true, very hurtful and can damage people's reputation.

Point no.1 i cannot take -oh, all girls who go clubbing are cheap, desperate and wild.

I confess that after the breakup i went thru a period of sudden freedom leading me to try n do so so many new things i have never explored or was not allowed to do as a gf.

Like a bird in a cage suddenly release i didn't quite know how to handle so much freedom. so i went out n ATE , SHOP, LEPAK and PARTIED my happy heart away.
met alot of new friends, discovered so many new pleasures and learn so many new things!

Let me assure u that my often trips to the club are not desperate measures to find a bf or get drunk n hug some stranger to fill the hole of love in my heart. HELL NO! i'm smarter than that. all the girls/guys that go along with me are smarter than that in fact.

People do things by choice. Maybe some people go clubs to look at pretty girls, get some 1 nite stand, get high on drugs, get high on alcohol, smoke like a choo choo train, dance shake their booty or watever. What ppl do is their freaking choice as almost everybody inside is already a big ass ADULT.

Haha, so many ppl have been asking me recently why i have i become some bad girl who spends her weds/sat nights at these dark "bad" places. they worry i mix with wrong company, get drunk n taken advantage.

ALOHA! i want to tell all you people something that maybe only the closest of friends know-
SANDRA CHEAH HATES TO DRINK!
it doesn't mean i never tasted beer/liquor its just that i hate the way it smells n tastes like cockroach in my mouth. yucks! i'm good with coke most of the time. u will never believe that i have ordered plain water no ice in a CLUB! even the bartender laughed at me! ;P
i find drinking alcohol, putting liquid posion into the body system, getting drunk n suffering massive hangover is such a dumbass thing to do!! plus my own testimonies of watching frens n random ppl doing shit when drunk is a total turnoff!

My main aim of clubbing is to dance like a madwoman n feel naturally sweaty high, have a rocking good time with my girlfrens, take a million photos, and check out what new fashion other girls are wearing.
I do not dance with strangers especially guys, never give out my number, never smoked or taken drugs ever! for what do damaging things to my young nice body?! siao ah..

So I've stated my case. Going clubbing doesn't make me or the majority of girls cheap, desperate or wild (much as saying standing in a garage makes u a car!). we just wanna have fun! (in my case clean fun!) .
I have not changed into a bitch who has forgotten her God, parents, friends or principals in life. I am still the silly old lovable Sandra from the small town of Seremban. I have not forgotten where i come from or where my priorities lie. I will know when to stop going when the time comes.

So, dont be so quick to judge. Remember we all are sinners ok. be the 1st one to throw the stone if ur free of guilt n sin. Thats my 2 cents worth! Cheers!
