Teaching update week 6- My kids got gf/bf!

HI DEAR READERS!

the reason i can even survive each sch day and be sane  is because of all the people who constantly love me and support and pray for me :)

Q: Good morning and how do you do?
A: Good morning. I am fine thank you.

(the simple sentences above took me hours to drill into my kids brains to remember. it came out in the test n they didnt know what to write! 13 year olds can u imagine..sigh!)

see the 2 small kids next to me? they are both in form 1 and i'm their English teacher. this was taken during Canteen Day where we put up stalls to sell stuff for our respective clubs. Mine was Kelab Pencegah Jenayah and i'm president teacher in charge. In a million years i never tot i would ever join this club what more LEAD it! hahahahaa..

Anyways back to the story of the kids above. can u believe it that 80% of my class boys are so small they come up to my shoulder height only n they look like 9 year olds with uncombed hair and unironed shirts to sch and yet MOST OF THEM HAVE GIRLFRENS!! omg OMG!! what in the world is happening these days!

conversation went like this:-

Sandra: *jokingly poking the shorter kid- So u ada awek chun tak?
Shorter boy: Takde la cikgu. ehehehe
Taller boy: Jangan tipu cikgu la..mengaku saja lah! ada cakap ade..ape la u ni..
Shorter boy: hehee ya saya ada gf la cikgu
Sandra: *so freaking suprised - so dia tu kelas apa? form 1 jugak?!!
Sandra: So bila dating pergi buat apa? pergi sekumpulan atau seorang saja? dosa tau!
Shorter boy: cikgu relax la..kita pergi karaoke, tengok wayang, berbasikal, main depan rumah, makan kat kantin, pergi tepi pantai. dengan kawan kawan lain tak seorang la cikgu!
Sandra: nasib baik u pandai kan. u ni semua kecik kecik dah main cinta. sikat rambut pun tidak. *laughing in my heart
Shorter boy: Cikgu saya handsem semua perempuan pun nakkan saya. tak boleh nafikan (cannot be denied). Cikgu pun setuju kan? ;P
Sandra : HAHAHAHAAHAHA! pandai u cakap kan..bila kelas english kita speaking banyak banyak ok?!

on a more serious note, after several classes with my kids. both form 1 and form 2 kids of mine are SOOOOOOOOOOOOO poor in language many of they cant spell, fill in the blanks what more string simple sentences together. what would this mean to their future? omg. i lose sleep thinking of ways to teach them, thinking of easier n more effective lesson plans, how to make them sit n listen n behave, what am i doing wrong? what can i do better? why cant i get through them? why do i even care? why am i still here?

i think about them so much when i'm driving to work, eating breakfast, lunch and sometimes afterwork! wth is happening. its becoming nightmarish. its stressing me out! i cannot erase it from my system!
i use to tease my bf saying he was married to his work seems like that disease has caught unto me. i'm bringing work baggage home daily. in my head! and its TORTURE!

Screaming, fighting, shouting, doing paperwork, preparing for lessons and going into class knowing NOBODY is listening is VERY DEMOTIVATING. i try the hard way, the nice way, the neutral dont care way. I use colours, teaching aids, laptop and movie and songs, i bring funny things into class, i tell animated explanations and examples, i draw cartoons. ALL WAYS DONT WORK. they are just disinterested in English. its a mental block put there by the people around them, the environment. its so frustrating!

There is heavy politics within the teachers and so much negativity coming from them. they fight n bitch among themselves so much. they have groups n i'm usually an outcast but its nice to sit on the fence but sometimes it gets lonely no fren in sch... i go to sch singing happily n come home feeling i got sucked dry of energy.
there is so much pressure from my seniors
so much pressure i put unto myself

i  confess i feel soooo burdened, i'm constantly falling sick n i feel i'm fighting a loosing battle. why is teaching so hard? Its not like just teaching in class (which is GIANT KILLER TASK already), there is so much extra curriculum activities, sports, entertaining, rubbish paperwork, learning to not step into work politics n get burned, and extra duties to carry !!!

Parents who have 3 kids complain like mad they dont know how to control their teenagers and how to talk to them. well imagine me- I HAVE 200 KIDS and all of them are ROARING WITH HORMONES ready to march around the sch, pour kerosene and burn it down if it was legal. HOW AM I SINGLEHANDEDLY going to face all this?!

Lord, i've come to a realization.
i cannot keep asking for things to get better,
i need to pray for MORE STRENGTH, MORE WISDOM, MORE COURAGE and PATIENCE so i can stand up to it and OVERCOME it instead of looking at it negatively and feeling sooooooo freaking depressed day in day out.
I must try. i must fight . and i will try so hard before i make a final decision. i wont give up on them yet. i wont give up on me. Amen.

i remember the old payphone...

lets rewind 20 years back. i remember having one of these in our house in blossom heights back in Seremban. It had the loudest ring, and the longest dial roll buttons (imagine the frustration of calling 999 only to be waiting for it to roll back to zero in times of emergency! haha) when u picked it up there was a sound of a person at the end of it and both people would say hello n get on to the conversation.

i remember conversations back then were more sincere, u could hear the expression of the person thru his/her voice on the phone, the background sounds of the tv, dog barking n banging noises from the garden or kitchen..oh my schooling years were so attached to the house phone calling friends like Serena, Joanne, Mary Anne (most frequent) to ask for homework, gossip about boys n stickers, arranging a movie outing on the yellow bus or just meeting up to go cycling.

Everytime the phone rang my heart would sprint with joy n i  remember everybody dropping everything n rushing to pick it up. me n my bros would race n whoever held the phone first would push the other away then shout the person's name needed on the phone.
nowadays the house phone barely rings at all..it has lost its charm, its power to attract and lies no more than a piece of house furniture slowly forgotten ..sigh..

and now we rewind 10 years back. i remember cycling to the payphone to call my friends n puppy love boyfriends at that time because dad use to nag n mom use to screen all calls at home. payphones were also useful when we were at school or on outings n had to call home for parents to come pick us up. i remember inserting 10 cents and topping up when the screen started blinking. then a fren taught me that u could press the star * and hash # button continuously to talk longer. haha! oh the naive-ness of our youth..

I'm thankful to Telekom for placing these in schools, roadcorners and shopping malls. such useful things they once were.

they have given me the gift of communication, to speak n laugh, giggle over the phone like a little girl. to convey msges and sweet nothings. to give me the wonderful memories of growing up.
I bet many children these days dont know how to even use one of these pay phones as kids as young as 5 years old have their own cellphones.
oh how fast times have changed with the wave of technology and sweeping all the people along with it..

i still prefer the era of the payphone when conversations back then were more sincere, communication was REAL and when life was simpler and easier to understand :,)

did u have the privilege of using both house phone n payphone? they were awesome stuff in our generation wont u agree? ;)

Susanne Eman is the fattest woman on earth?

DEAR READERS!!

read this bizzare news i got off the internet.
i have no idea WHY ANYBODY would dream about being the fattest woman in the whole wide world when every other woman is trying to lose every single fat in her body!! ABSURD!

Supersize mum who dreams of becoming the world’s fattest woman reveals she’s marrying a CHEF
A mother bidding to become the fattest woman in the world has become engaged to marry a chef.

Susanne Eman, 33, revealed her controversial dream of reaching a target weight of over 115 stone last year – to become the biggest human ever.
Now the mother-of-two, who currently weighs more than 54 stone, plans to wed fiance Parker Clack, 35, who loves cooking for her.

upersize diet: Susanne Eman, 33 being spoon fed by her boyfriend Parker Clack, 38 at the breakfast table
The pair met over the internet last year and hit it off following a string of emails.
Within months Parker moved in to Susanne’s home in Casa Grande, Arizona, where she lives with sons Brendin, 13, and Gabriel, 17.
Unemployed Susanne said: ‘We are a match made in heaven. I love eating and Parker loves cooking.

Love: Susanne and Parker share a kiss on their bed. The pair met over the internet last year and hit it off following a string of emails

Feast: Susanne enjoys her dinner at a local restaurant tucking into several dishes, including a side salad
‘It’s a perfect pairing. I still want to be the fattest woman in the world and Parker is fine with that.
‘He loves larger women and sees how happy I am when I’m eating.
‘His cooking skills were definitely part of the attraction. How could I resist a man with talents in the kitchen
‘His signature dish, spaghetti bolognese, is my favourite. I could eat it all day.
‘Parker helps by doing the housework too.
‘He does most of the house work, cooking, helps encourage me to go for walks, he goes swimming with me, helps me do anything I have difficulty with.’

Parker encourages Susanne to go for walks and swim to keep her mobile and helps her with anything else she has difficulty with

Susanne says she has gained several stone since her last weigh-in last year when she registered at 54 stone

Amazingly Parker is supporting Susanne in her controversial goal of becoming the world’s heaviest.
Seen
here dishing up a home-cooked breakfast for her, Parker cooks mountains
of bacon and scrambled eggs, fried potatoes, huge slices of toast and
even salad for Susanne.

Parker said: ‘I support her because it makes her happy, and I love big women.
‘I do worry about her health of course, but I try to make sure she eats
some healthy food like salad, and I make sure she does exercises.

‘She’s taken up swimming since we met and we love to swim together

Susanne poses for a photograph with her two sons Gabriel, left, 17, Brandon, right, 13, and her fiance Parker Clack. The couple are pictured right, together. Doctors have told Susanne she is gambling with her life
‘I know becoming the biggest woman ever is something she truly wants to do with all of her heart.
‘She had a check up last year and the doctor said she was fine, even though he doesn’t support her mission. He said she’s gambling with her life.
‘As long as the doctors say she’s okay, I’ll support her.
‘I’d love Susanne whatever she looked like, but if she was a size-zero model I wouldn’t have noticed her in the first place.
‘We met online and exchanged photos when we were courting. I thought she was beautiful.
‘I’ve always preferred bigger girls. To me there’s nothing attractive about a skinny woman. It’s more ladylike to have curves.

As Susanne, a size 10XL, continues to balloon, Parker takes her and her sons to the park on day-trips – wheeling Susanne around in her wheelchair
‘Men aren’t supposed to have curves, but women are, and Susanne definitely has them.’
Susanne says she has gained several stone since her last weigh-in last year when she registered at 54 stone.
She had hoped to be three stone heavier by the end of 2011.
‘It’s harder to gain than you might think because I’m trying to stay as healthy and active as possible,’ she said.
‘I’ve been slowly upping what I eat. It’s like an athlete training but instead of training to be harder, I’m making myself softer.
‘There’s not been a point where I’ve doubted what I’m doing. It’s deep desire for me to do this and I feel I can do it without endangering my health so I don’t worry about my boys.’
As Susanne, a size 10XL, continues to balloon, Parker takes her and her sons to the park on day-trips – wheeling Susanne around in her wheelchair.

‘My mobility is decreasing,’ she said. ‘But I always knew this would happen as I gained. I get out of breath more easily and Parker has to push me in my chair more often.

Susanne is served breakfast in bed by Parker who is a chef. Her favourite food is spaghetti bolognese which is his signature dish
‘When we go to the store he shops for me. He helps me in and out of the car. He encourages me to do my exercises.
‘My aim is to never become bed-bound. As long Parker keeps taking me out to the park for waddles, then I know I can keep moving.’
Reaching her goal would mean Susanne tops that of previous world record-holder Carol Ann Yager, who died in 1994 from kidney failure caused by morbid obesity.
But despite warnings from doctors that she is playing ‘Russian Roulette’ with her life, Susanne says she can avoid the fate of others who have reached over 1000lbs (71 stone).
‘I do my best to eat as much healthy food as possible,’ said Susanne.
‘I do an exercise regime to keep me as mobile as possible and Parker helps with that. He makes sure I do my stretches and sit ups.

‘I want to try and break the stigma that being fat is bad.
‘And it’s helped me to find love, so hat’s wrong with that.’ If i ever get sick my sister will take care of my boys.
